Counselling with Simon Baxter.

Simon Baxter, Counsellor.

Hello.  It can be difficult to know how to choose a counsellor or therapist. This site is to let you know a little about me, so you can have more than just a name to go on, if you decide to get in contact with me.

My wife and I have lived in Kingskerswell since 1993, and have a grown up daughter.  Some people know me as a musician and violin teacher, but I gained a diploma in person-centred counselling finishing in 2000, and I have practised as a therapist since then.

I asked a few ex-clients if they would write reviews for me. Here are a couple. (I would be too embarrassed to print these if they were not genuine!)

From S.W., Totnes:

"I experienced Simon over a 3 year period as a wise, empathic and supportive therapist. I had confidence in him from our first meeting. I recommend him as a person and as a therapist."

From L. S., North Devon:

..."sessions with Simon have been incredibly emotionally transformative, as well as enabling me access transcendent spiritual experiences. Definitely my go-to counsellor."

People have differing needs, and you need to find a counsellor whom you feel you can trust.

I am happy to have a first 30 minute session to meet, and to give you the opportunity to decide if you think I would be a good counsellor for you.

Scale of charges;

Counselling: £45.0 per 1 hour session.

Meditation tuition: donation, what you can easily afford.

Natural healing: (similar to Reiki) donation, as above.

Mediation: (by negotiation, depending on the number of people and the issues involved)

Where?

I use several locations, including a therapy room in Kingskerswell and one in Totnes.  I have sometimes used my camper van for therapy sessions in the past, when this has been acceptable for the client.

A bit more about Meditation..

I have used several meditation techniques for over 40 years, and have found that meditation can make life better generally, and can help to weather the rough bits more effectively.

I am happy to offer basic guidance in meditation for individuals or small groups, because meditation is a practice which would undoubtedly make the the world a better place if more people did it.

The most essential technique is what is now called mindfulness, which is a great way to start.
